Newborns

Newborn sessions take careful timing and planning and have a nice slow pace to allow plenty of time for nursing, changing and calming baby. The goal is to have a nice sleepy babe so we can tuck him or her into those cute little poses. Sessions are also done in the comfort of your home so you don't have to pack up and leave the house. Ideally, newborn sessions are photographed in the first two weeks after baby is born when they're still nice and sleepy so contact me while you're still expecting to pencil in a tentative date.
3-6 Month

This time we're trying to schedule the session around when baby is awake! We'll be trying to capture those brand new expressions and smiles. Six months, or around the time when baby can sit up but can't crawl, is one of my favorites. They're so full of personality but we're still able to tuck them into all those big basins and baskets. A bubbly washtub, a pot of spaghetti or a pile of stuffed animals are just a few fun options!
1st Birthday/1st Steps

So much has changed in a year! It's hard to believe that baby is walking all by herself. This will be an "action" session where your new toddler will be setting the pace. It's a great time to try fun props like a new ride-on toy or a big bunch of balloons.

Portrait sessions are carefully coordinated to make the shoot an authentic experience for you. The aim is to be comfortable and relaxed so at your home or outside in a fun spot make for ideal locations. Don't think posed and stuffy...think walking, playing, swinging or whatever it is that your family does for fun. Don't worry, we'll catch a few with everyone smiling politely, but we'll also catch the ones were the kids are laughing and Mom and Dad steal a glance that communicates the happiness they feel.
