The Alerin Barn will forever be one of my favorite wedding venues because it has a warmth, coziness, and intimacy wrapped up in a beautiful package. It was the perfect match for André and Jackie, especially with guests traveling from all corners of the globe and multilingual families. If there were any communication barriers that day, they were certainly broken down by the language of joy and celebration. I was so lucky to be a part of their day.

You may remember them from their engagement session last summer. We got a little wet but they were up for anything.

The couple wanted a simple and fun day and that’s exactly what they got! A warm sun broke out of the stormy forecast and shone down on the outdoor celebration all day. It wasn’t until the party was well underway indoors that the threatening rain made an appearance.

The bouquets sat poised on a nightstand while the bride got ready. Jackie had a gorgeous vintage look. Once or twice she peeked out the window to see guests arriving. André lingered outside to greet them. The famous Butler school bus ferried guests from local hotels.

The wedding chariot, a covered wagon pulled by bright red tractor, carried the groom and best man Nicholas up the hill to the ceremony site. The sun was shining brightly for the couple’s ceremony. Once all guests were situated, it was time for the bride to make her way up to the anxiously waiting crowd.

It was a special moment when Jackie was walked down the aisle by her Mom. André’s sister Josiane sang “La Vie en Rose” during the ceremony. Even though she sang in french and I didn’t know a single word of it, it was hauntingly beautiful as her voice echoed through the surrounding woods.

After the procession down the hill, the whole wedding group collected for one big photo. The guests made their way to cocktail hour while the couple and I wandered around the property. I love the gypsy wagon where we stopped for a few. It actually has a snug little bed where guests can sleep.

The color scheme for the reception was pink and green. The coordinating wedding favors were M&Ms personalized with a photo of André and Jackie from their e-session. The evening got underway with the first dance. Jackie’s sister Michelle, brother Adrian, and André’s brother Nicholas all gave great speeches. André’s French-speaking relatives serenaded the couple after the toasts.

Congratulations to André and Jackie! I hope you both enjoyed every minute of your amazing day!
