On July 4 I had a fun day photographing Matthew and Justine’s wedding at The Barn at Boyden Farm. Boyden is always a fun, casually rustic spot where a wedding day is perfect either indoors or out. Luckily the rain held off and the hazy cloud cover made for some absolutely beautiful light.
The couples that I’ve photographed at Boyden are often ones who live out of state but have fallen in love with Vermont. Matthew and Justine were one of those couples and wanted to share their love for the Green Mountain State with their guests.
The barn was a beautiful spot for some shots of Justine’s dress. Her pastel rose bouquet was done by Just Weddings ~ Just Beautiful Flowers. The couple’s Moms, Lucille and Janice, busied themselves setting up the cookie table…hundreds made by Lucille and family! A cozy room in the barn’s basement was the ladies’ spot for getting ready. The light coming in from the windows made for some pretty shots of the bride.
Matthew and the boys arrived to get their corsages on before the ceremony. At last it was time for the big moment and the wedding party made their way down the long grassy procession. As the couple walked down the aisle together as a married couple they gave each other that knowing look. It’s always one of my favorite moments from every wedding day.
The wedding party was a fun crew. And that beautiful light I mentioned before was perfect for my time with the couple. Since we ended up with extra time in the schedule the pair was able to enjoy some of the cocktail hour. Guests relaxed outside with the cool breeze and played a little cornhole.
I took some time to capture the lovely DIY details inside the barn. I loved the map with the pins to mark where all their guests were coming from. Perfect idea for weddings with guests from all over. The cute cupcakes and wedding cake were from Little Purple Cake Shoppe.
Given that it was the fourth of July it was only fitting to celebrate with a little sparkle. At the last minute the couple decided not to interrupt the party inside with a sparkler sendoff from all their guests and instead have a little fun alone. I think it was even better. Congratulations Matthew and Justine!
