Elegant & Polished | Equinox Resort Wedding | Adam and Sarah

One of my August weddings brought me to a familiar place, Manchester Vermont. I spent a year living in Manchester after college working as a bartender and being unsuspectingly eyed by my future husband. It’s such a cute town, just dripping with Vermont quaintness so I was excited to book Adam and Sarah’s wedding at the famous Equinox Resort.

The girls readied at the Charles Orvis Inn right next to the resort and across the street from the ceremony site. When I arrived Sarah was getting the finishing touches on her makeup. Her gorgeous silk gown and shoes waited in the adjoining bedroom. Her Dad arrived for a first look at his daughter in her dress.

Adam dressed in a room right next door and the couple opted for a first look for their portraits.

The ceremony was just a skip across the road at the resort’s 1811 House lawns. Although it wasn’t super sunny the light was soft and just perfect. The flowers by Jasper and Prudence Floral were so subtle and pretty. Adam was completely relaxed and having a great time. I loved the bridesmaids’ dresses. Each had a self-chosen different style and they all looked like Greek goddesses.

The bride and groom were each escorted down the aisle by their parents. The beautiful Chuppah was made from birch limbs. It was laughs all the way down the as the couple made their exit. After the ceremony Adam’s Dad was overcome with emotion.

After the ceremony it was back to the resort for the outdoor cocktail hour. The sprinkles held off right until the guests were being called inside for dinner. I was able to snatch the couple away for a few quick minutes to grab a few more couple shots. How can you pass up the columns and arches and relaxing Adirondack chairs for some great shots?

Inside the Colonnade ballroom was stunningly decorated. Immediately the guests launched into dance while waiting for the meal to begin. In fact, no one seemed very interested in sitting down to eat.

The speech by Sarah’s Dad, who was accompanied by her sister and husband and her brother, was very touching. The crowd could barely wait to start the traditional Hora dance. I always love to witness this event. The wedding party closed out the night with a group hug/dance. It was so nice to see such a close group! Congratulations to Adam and Sarah!
