Emily and Mikael are getting married this year at the Alerin Barn in St. Johnsbury Vermont. (Yay, one of my favorite spots!) They love Vermont’s charm and beauty and when planning were drawn to the cozy comfort of the Alerin Barn. During a whirlwind fall planning trip from their home in New York, including a visit from California from Emily’s mom, they met up with me in Williston for a colorful Vermont engagement session.
While it was still early October and the color was spectacular, the chill was still a slight shock to Emily, a native Californian. It proved a good test though since their wedding will be about the same time this year. The pair both soldiered on (a pun intended for Mikael who was in the military, hee hee) and we had a great time getting to know each other. I don’t think much would bother this tough couple. The pair met in a crossfit class where Mikael was the trainer.
It was a lovely day with peak foliage as well as peeks of blue sky. The light was just perfect. They brought with them a rustic wooden american flag that they plan to use as part of the wedding decor.
The blanket snuggles were my favorite shots. I can’t wait for this couple’s October wedding! It will be fun to return to the Alerin Barn after a long hiatus and I can’t wait to see Emily’s rustic, ethereal style come together for the wedding day.
