I’m not sure I’ve met a more laid back couple than Graham and Karen. They knew that the details would all come together and that the important thing was that they had fun. And they did! It was another stunning Vermont day in June at the Grand Isle Lake House. A cool breeze wafted over the grounds from the lake and the sun was sparkling. Inside, fun tokens waited for guests to arrive.
The bride was just calmly relaxing with her Mom and maid of honor in the bridal suite. If she was even the slightest bit anxious, you couldn’t tell. Funky touches like a turquoise bracelet from Etsy for her “something blue” were part of the details I found. Karen’s final moments of getting ready seemed like a breeze. I loved her laugh!
Graham waited patiently under the apple tree as Karen approached for the first look. From there these two made my job pretty easy. Graham and Karen laughed all day. Exactly the way things should be on a wedding day.
The colors of the day perfectly matched the couple’s personalities. Bright poppies accented the bouquet and centerpieces. There were lots of oohs and ahhs over the stunning florals by Erin Ostreicher Designs.
During the family portraits before the ceremony, I got a laugh from the little attendants. Graham’s son Ryder and the other young members of the wedding party were issued “Security” t-shirts to keep all the guests in line.
I wish I could have recording this ceremony from start to finish. From the touching way the couple included Ryder to the absolutely hilarious reading done by several members of the crowd it was a very personal and memorable ceremony.
Cocktails and lawn games commenced. The couple happily joined in. A Ben & Jerry’s cart treated guests to some sweet ice cream for dessert. Later, the guests convened inside so A House on Fire could kick off some dancing.
Thanks Graham and Karen for choosing me as your photographer! I had such a fun time from start to finish. Congratulations to you both!
