Lake Placid Wedding | High Peaks Resort | Kevin and Emily

My second October wedding took me back to Lake Placid for Kevin and Emily’s wedding at the High Peaks Resort. It was another gorgeous fall day and plenty of fall foliage to color the scenery.

I met Kevin first while he waited for his bride and their first look  in their hotel suite. The room overlooked Mirror Lake and the balcony made a great spot for those first shots. There was also a nice secluded courtyard on the water for more photos of the couple as well as their friends and families. Kevin was a riot and kept Emily laughing.

The ceremony was actually a brief drive out of town and took place at The Church of the Assumption. Father Kornmeyer was a very welcoming priest which was a nice treat. I have to admit that I’m always a bit apprehensive of church ceremonies because many priests/reverends can be resistant to photographers entering their domain. I’m sure that was likely caused by an overly aggressive photographer jumping up on the altar and interrupting the ceremony. It can be hard to get across that that’s not my style at all.

The church was so quaint and the light was beautiful as Emily was walked down the aisle by her Dad. Kevin had the best look on his face as he watched his bride. Kevin’s daughter was a junior bridesmaid and was so cute when she cried during the ceremony. She was so happy for her Dad and Emily!

We arrived back at the hotel as the sun was setting. Kevin and Emily kicked off the evening with their first dance. There were some great speeches that got a lot of laughs. The reception was a blast and everyone was up for dancing. I found yet another break-dancing kid, a trend that I saw throughout last season.

Congratulations to Kevin and Emily who deserve a lifetime of happiness!
