Sometimes I just feel lucky getting to see fun places when I shoot. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not all sexy. But I was excited to shoot the Trapp Brewery Bierhall interior photography for Neagley & Chase Construction Company in September as the project drew to a close.
This was a follow up to the first shoot I did when the brewing facility was completed in 2015. The Bierhall was the second phase of the project to add on an 8,635 square foot restaurant facility that includes a large custom bar, commercial kitchen, a wood fired cook station and an exterior patio. This phase of the building has exposed beams from the timber frame construction. There’s also a four-season enclosed winter garden greenhouse completed later in 2016. Guillot Vivian Viehmann Architects Inc. was the architectural firm for the project.
Warm wood tones (that you could still smell!), unique metalwork and finishes, and custom lighting create an atmosphere that makes the space seem much cozier than its lofty appearance. The restaurant had executed a soft opening just prior to my morning shoot so I got to see and shoot the wood fired oven and commercial kitchen in action. Exposed brewing equipment and a viewing area into the larger brewing facility tie the two parts of the building together. A second floor private/spill-over space provides birds eye views of the restaurant and a close up look at the architecture.
In my allotted time I aimed to capture several overall views and plenty of details. Below are some of my favorites and you can check out the full gallery here!
The place was bustling in anticipation of an investors luncheon happening that day so it was easy to catch a few shots with people in them. This seems to be a new trend in shelter publications and I love how it adds dimension, scale and life to a space.
