Jenny’s Barn Wedding | Callie + Adam

Working at a venue close to home (home being the northernmost corner of Vermont) isn’t something that happens often so when that opportunity arises I get so excited. I also get really excited when it’s a new-to-me venue. Callie and Adam’s Jenny’s Barn wedding located in Franklin, Vermont was both for me. The venue is a pretty new spot with a rustic glam barn and sweeping views of the Green Mountains. Like… All. The. Mountains. The views are pretty spectacular! It’s spacious but adding on a tent can accommodate large crowds like Callie and Adam’s guest list that included their huge local families.

    The Groom

I started my day at the groom’s Dad’s house where the boys were all getting ready. It was a quiet as they got dressed with the usual “Can you help with these cufflinks?” and “How do you pin this on?” that I hear when groomsmen are prepping. It was a perfect early fall day so before I left I was able to get some memorable group shots.

    The Bride

While Callie warned me that things were going fine despite how stressed they seemed, I only found another calm quiet group when I arrived at the bride’s home to capture her getting ready.

    First Look

At the last minute, the couple wanted to squeeze in a first look at the barn before the ceremony. After their cute engagement session, I knew this couple would be relaxed in front of the camera. We used the nice secluded loft for a private meeting space.

    The Ceremony

Thanks to the beautiful weather the ceremony was held outside with the amazing view as a backdrop. The light was soft and the nuptials were simple and sweet. Those crisp fall bouquets and boutonnieres were from Flowers by Olga.

We took full advantage of the scenery for group portraits of family and wedding party. The wide open spaces helped with the large group. I had no trouble finding a few different spots to give Callie and Adam’s couple portraits a little variety. The breeze highlighted Callie’s flowy gown from Fiori Bridal.

Happiness and celebration ensued. I wanted to devour the cake created by Adam’s Mom Kelly of Moments That Matter. It was fun to pull the accommodating couple outside for a few dusk shots. It was great to see the pair genuinely having fun both with their guests and with each other throughout the reception. The party was still going strong as I left for the evening!
