Marketing Photos | Tyler Place Resort
When I was contacted by Tyler Place Resort owner Pixley Hill to take some marketing photos to help the family vacation spot update its website I gladly said yes. I was excited to work on the project but also excited to revisit the resort where I spent a couple of summers working many years ago.
The Tyler Place is a unique destination for families that recaptures that feeling of 50’s era summer vacations. The best known example I can think of is the location in Dirty Dancing. Families stay in rustic cottages or the inn and enjoy activities both together and apart. The resort sprawls over 165 acres.
There were 4 locations I was tasked with shooting and for each spot I had about 20-30 minutes to shoot 2-3 rooms in each. Such a speedy shoot meant traveling light and working fast. I carried my camera, tripod and one off-camera flash on a monopod for any supplemental light.

Even with short time constraints we were able to get some images of the spaces that looked cozy and bright at the same time.
