Medical Architecture Photography | NMC Medical Office Building
The final architecture shoot I completed of Northwestern Medical Center’s new construction was of it’s new medical office building. Previous phases of their expansion included the Inpatient Progressive Care Unit and the Clinics Building. The large bright space now houses Northwestern Primary Care, Northwestern Urgent Care, Northwestern Orthopaedics, and NMC’s Outpatient Laboratory. The building adds a prominent glass front entrance to the campus and is connected to the main building and entrance by a sleek glass corridor.
Timing was crucial for the shoot. Patient confidentiality meant the space, particularly the common spaces, had to be photographed after substantial completion but before its opening date. A team from E4H Architecture was on hand to help stage the spaces with furniture arrangement and models so that we could create portfolio worthy images. I captured waiting and reception areas, provider workspaces, and finishing details. Working with detailed staging is definitely a longer process but so worth it in the end. Images are balanced and clean when you can take the time to stage shots. Adding models is also great, especially in clinical settings.
