Glitter & Glam | Old Lantern Wedding | Benjamin + Celine

It’s only about a month until wedding season begins again for me but I’ve got two more weddings from 2013 to share. This early October wedding may even get you dreaming about fall already!

Benjamin and Celine’s wedding at The Old Lantern in Charlotte had tons of rustic charm and lots of sparkly glam too. Since Celine is the daughter of Lantern owners Roland and Lisa, who also previously owned Roland’s Place in New Haven VT, she has seen her fair share of celebrations. And it’s fair to say she was backed up by plenty of wedding-planning expertise.

Ivory and gold, pale roses, shiny metallics, burlap and cork combined to create a very lush color and texture palette. Painted pumpkins and maple syrup favors from Maple Meadows Farm in Salisbury reminded you that it was fall in Vermont. There was sparkle and glitter everywhere.

Celine’s lace gown paired perfectly with the day’s styling. There was just a hint of pink in the bouquet. The pink from the bouquet carried through to the bridesmaid dresses which were all different shades of pink. The flowers were furnished by Grace from Green Mountain Florist Supply. Celine prepped at the Lantern’s new Inn. Nothing like a happy Mom to help you get ready. Celine’s soon-to-be mother-in-law and her Dad got a view as she descended the stairs. Dad looked thoughtful as the moment drew nearer.

I arrived early at the church to snag a few shots of the groom and his groomsmen/women. The ring bearer was a super cute and the other little attendants patiently waited for the show to start. Benjamin showed no signs of stress. The bride arrived and beamed from entrance to exit.

Since the ceremony was at the Christ the King Church in Burlington we took advantage of the route back to the Lantern to make a few stops for couple portraits. First stop was the Shelburne Museum which provide a little fiery foliage in one direction, and then a stunning view in the other. Those are the Adirondack Mountains just beyond Lake Champlain in the background. I loved the antique feel of the couple’s rings. Next stop was the Shelburne Vineyard. I love the depth and converging lines of rows of grapevines and it turned out to be an appropriate spot since the couple had celebrated there the night before with some of their friends and family. One last stop was this tree-lined drive (yes, I have stopped here once before). Luckily the driveway’s owners were friends of Celine’s parents and also guests at the wedding.

Back at the reception the sparkle was turned up a notch with all of the lanterns, candles and twinkle lights ablaze. After toasts, the couple gave their own welcome/thank-you speech. Celine’s dance with her Dad was sweet and Benjamin’s dance with his Mom was lively! Night fell and the Lantern took on a warm glow. So did all of the guests as they danced the night away. Mike from Top Hat Entertainment kept the crowd moving to the music of the Grippo Funk Band. Benjamin and Celine definitely had the moves! But they also frequently pulled close for some sweet moments of wedded bliss.

Congratulations Benjamin and Celine! Thank you so much for choosing me to be a part of your day!
