Summer Wedding Celebration | Old Lantern Jewish Ceremony

Alyssa and Greg were married on a gorgeous July day at the Old Lantern Inn and Barn in Charlotte, Vt. This quiet couple were as cute as could be and the celebration was sweet in its simplicity. The light was beautiful and for a midsummer day it wasn’t exceedingly hot.

    Getting Ready

The girls prepped and dressed the Lantern’s spacious Inn. It was the perfect bright spot for those anticipation photos. Alyssa was surrounded by her closest friends who made the early part of the day go so smoothly. Alyssa dressed in her gorgeous strappy empire waist wedding gown and was buttoned up by her Mom armed with a crochet needle. A group hug among the girls showed what a close group they are. Alyssa received a handwritten note and gift from Greg before leaving the Inn.

    First Look

The couple arrived separately at the Charlotte public beach for their first look. A shady woodsy spot offered them a private moment to see each other for the first time. We visited the beach overlook across the street and of course the wooden covered bridge. Local residents and passing traffic are always so friendly and excited to congratulate wedding couples when I bring them to this spot. Who wouldn’t love a beautiful bride?!

    Group Photos

Prior to the ceremony we had time to complete the whole group photo list. This group was awesome. Everybody was ready on time, happy to smile for photos and also provided me with some sweet shots during those in-between moments.

Allison Ellis of Floral Artistry created this fantastic colorful bouquet for the bride and the stunning spray above the ceremony arbor.

Just before the ceremony, I caught one of my favorite moments of the day as Alyssa waited patiently in the wedding party suite at the barn. She was so poised and the light was perfectly dramatic. The ceremony was touching and went off without a hitch.

The crowd oohed and aahed as the couple danced their first dance. Then they laughed and cried during the speeches including one by Greg’s parents who donned special hats. The golden hour aligned with an opportunity to take a break with the couple and I’m so glad it did. The rest of the evening was plenty of fun and dancing including the traditional Horah which offered me some fantastic reaction faces. The last colors of the sunset were fading when I finally left this fantastic group.
